Refugee Centre in Przemysl

Hope Shelter is a short-term refuge for people fleeing the horrors of war in Ukraine. We provide accommodation for up to 60 people at  Lwowska 40 in Przemysl. Our guests are provided with food, cooking facilities, and sleeping accommodations. This is crucial because shelters in Poland have been systematically closing or lowering capacity during a time where weather conditions are worsening and the war is progressing. The only option for those who don’t have shelter is the local train station until it becomes full, at which point they will have to sleep on the street or if lucky, be sent to other cities which may not have capacity to help them.
 
In addition to accommodations, we liaise with other agencies to provide our guests with long term solutions such as placement in other countries, transportation, and financial assistance.
 
We operate with minimal staff and ask our guests to help run the shelter. This provides them with a sense of pride, contribution, and belonging during a period of massive uncertainty.
 
We are in desperate need of funding to purchase coal for heating, everyday supplies, food, and general maintenance/upgrades to the facility.
